Forethought will be increasing their rates in NE depending on the plan by 12% or 9% effective 11/1/11.

Valued Medicare Supplement Agent:

As you know, each year medical costs rise at a rate far exceeding inflation, and the benefits that are provided to your clients by Medicare continue to be reduced.  In order to keep pace with these ever increasing medical costs and continue to provide your clients with the increased benefits that your Medicare Supplement policy provides, Forethought Life Insurance Company must make an adjustment in the premium your clients pay. Our policyholders are the most valued asset that our company possesses, and your clients can be assured that any premium adjustments which are made will be kept to an absolute minimum.

Premium rates for all new Modernized Medicare Supplement rates will be increasing effective as of the date listed below.  Premium rates for all in force policies in these states will be increasing effective with the first premium due on the policy anniversary first following the effective date listed below. 

Newly Approved States

Nebraska Standard: All applications signed, dated, and received in our office by October 31, 2011 should use the current premiums. Applications signed and dated on or after November 1, 2011 and applications signed and dated prior but received on or after November 1, 2011 must use the new premiums.  Please note that in the initial rollout for Nebraska rates were erroneously implemented for one area only.  Going forward there will be rates in place for three areas as filed and approved by the State. Corrections to reflect this change on remaining first year premiums for in force policies will be made as quickly as possible.

 Nevada Standard:  All applications signed and dated on November 14, 2011, or earlier, and received in our office by November 21, 2011 should use the current premiums.  Applications signed and dated on or after November 15, 2011 must use the new premiums.
